St. Mary’s Catholic Church will not be able to offer a final resting place for families of loved one who’ve passed on. The Sylva Board of Adjustment rejected St. Mary’s permit request for a 123-gravesite cemetery on its property at the intersection of Josephine Street and Dillsboro Road. About 20 people showed up both to support and express concern about the proposal, but in the end the issue was DOA.
