Haywood County Health Dept. in Waynesville offering booster shots

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. COVID-19 booster shots are getting the go-ahead in the mountains. The Haywood County Health Department in Waynesville is offering booster shots from Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The goal, Health Director Sarah Henderson said, is to try to get out a relatively large quantity in a small period of time. The CDC is recommending Pfizer and Moderna boosters for people six months after their initial shots. The Johnson and Johnson booster is recommended for those 18 and older who were vaccinated two or more months ago. Vaccines could be coming as early as next month for younger children.
