MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. (WLOS) — A flood benefit concert put on in Maggie Valley last week exceeded their fundraiaing goals. The ‘Hillbilly Jam’ collected thousands to help Haywood County victims of Tropical Storm Fred. The free, family-friendly event took place last week at Maggie Valley’s Festival Grounds, and irganizers said espite the rain, people turned out, with a final donations tally of $16,000 rcollected to help families in need. The money raised goes to the Town of Canton and will then be distributed to flood victims in the area.
