Parents can no longer just drop off their kids at school sporting events

Jackson County Public Schools annunced that parents can no longer just drop off their kids at sporting events. The school system sent out a message last Friday saying “Due to increasing disruptive behavior, K-8 students must now have an adult at all JCPS athletic events.” The Smoky Mountain High School newsletter said the new requirement is necessary for to ensure the the safety of all game goers. The policy would be in effect for the rest of the year. Officials said there has been no pushback from parents as of Tuesday.
