Haywood County residents are being warned not to fall victim to scammers preying on people following last month’s torrential rains and flooding. The District Attorney’s office and Federal Trade Commission officials say they’ve received reports of several cleanup and repair scams. If you suspect you’ve been a victim of a scam, you’re urged to contact local law enforcement or report it to Federal Trade Commission.
