WCU Opens Vaccine Clinic Today

Western Carolina University says it has received a shipment of COVID-19 vaccine and will launch a vaccine clinic today. The school partnering with Jackson County Health Department to establish the clinic, while also helping to allevgiate the county’s extensive waiting list. The launch was originally scheulded for last week, but was delayed due to the poor weather conditions. Courtnee Lingerfelt, the director of WCU’s vaccine clinic, says this has been a stressful process, but finally a big relief. WCU also received two special freezers that can handle keeping the vaccines good, as they must be kept at 40 below zero conditions. Jackson County has reported its waiting list has now grown to over 7-thousand people.
