Mental health is being prioritized by state and local leaders

CHEROKEE, N.C. (WLOS) – Mental health is being prioritized by state and local leaders. The North Carolina Department of Health, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and state legislators, are planning to host a town hall in Cherokee Thursday evening [June 22], at 6 p.m., at Cherokee Central School to discuss improving mental health across the state. The public is encouraged to attend, especially those in the Qualla Boundary, and Swain and Jackson County. You can also join the conversation via livestream on EBCI’s webpage and Facebook page.
