Jackson County School Superintendent Dana Ayers is under fire

Jackson County School Superintendent Dana Ayers is under fire after holding students involved in a senior prank gone too far accountable for their actions. Some parents have even hired lawyers, after it was determined some of the students are facing charges stemming from the May 16 incident in which several Smoky Mountain High School students were accused of trespassing on campus and committing illegal acts. The prank resulted in law enforcement pressing charges with the full support of Ayers’, but some think the consequences of a criminal record is too harsh.
