The slide saga of Sylva’s beleaguered Allen Street continues to be a bone of contention for the town. It has been closed for three years now as final details on Utility relocation are worked out. Duke Energy has moved their infrastructure. Allen Street is a town-owned, sometimes one-lane street reaching from Mill Street in downtown Sylva to a junction with Chipper Curve Road about a mile north. Officials hope to see work begin in early April.
