Cherokee man charged in a 2021 arson case has learned his fate

The Cherokee man charged in a 2021 arson case has learned his fate. James Ralph Brady, 55, was recently sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution, stemming from the house fire at 37 Bob Owle Road in Cherokee. Brady admitted throwing a “Molotov cocktail” near the single-wide trailer before it caught fire, because he thought his intended target lived at the residence but it turns out it was the wrong residence. The victim was able to put the fire out but not before substantial damage was done to the home. Brady is currently in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility.
