RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – It’s beginning to feel alot like Christmas, as snow is forecast and temps drop below average through Sunday. Gov. Roy Cooper has issued a State of Emergency as North Carolina will see temperatures dip into the teens during what many experts are calling an “arctic blast” forecast to bring severe thunderstorms, ice, damaging winds, and below average temperatures. Cooper said the state’s emergency operations plan will waive transportation regulations to help the transport of fuel and critical supplies, help first responders and protect consumers from price gouging. Additionally, the strong wind gusts across multiple days has a chance to present downed trees, power outages, and wind chill values in the single digits across North Carolina.
