The North Carolina Wildlife Federation has announced the 19 winners of its 58th Annual Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards. Receiving recognition as the Affiliate of the Year is the Mainspring Conservation Trust of Franklin. The organization has demonstrated their dedication to conserving land, forest and farms, restoring water, and connecting people to the heritage and natural resources of the Upper Little Tennessee Valley. Through partnerships and affiliations with federal, tribal and state agencies, Mainspring has helped conserve more than 29,000 acres in this nationally significant region.
