Plane makes an emergency landing on Swain County highway

SWAIN COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Luckily no one was injured when a single-engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a highway in Swain County over the 4th of July weekend. The Swain County Sheriff’s Office said in a FB post that the pilot of the small plane was able to navigate the aircraft after it went down on US-74, near the TA Sandlin bridge Sunday just before noon ensuring a safe landing.
The sheriff’s office said, according to the pilot, engine problems caused the incident.
