ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – Just in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, hundreds of people turned out for the unexpected opening of Malvern Hills Pool in Asheville on Saturday, July 2, after the city previously said the pool would not open at all this summer. Back in May, city of Asheville officials announced the pool would have a delayed opening after a failed inspection. However, on Friday it was announced the pool would open for the season after updated documentation showed Malvern Hills Pool are in line with safety rules. The pool is expected to start normal operating hours through the summer months.
