WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A Waynesville man remains in jail after police connected him to a stash of ammunition found in a restroom trash can at the Ingles in Hazelwood. Brandon Sherrill, 26, is charged with carrying a concealed gun without a permit and possession of a firearm by a felon. Surveillance video showed Sherrill going in and out of the restroom Sunday morning where the ammunition was discovered. Investigators said he also had a gun and more ammunition in a backpack. Sherrill was being held at the Haywood County Detention Center on a $51,000 bond.
