WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – One mountain lawmaker wants to change how town and school board leaders are elected in Haywood County. But not everyone is in favor of Rep. Mark Pless’s newly-introduced billm, including Haywood County mayors who have come out against the bill to make those races partisan. The change would be a first for Haywood County. Pless’ bill is now in the House Committee on Local Government.
