ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A preliminary investigation is underway after human remains were found just east of Sylva in Asheville’s River Arts District. The Asheville Police Department (APD) says the body was discovered Monday morning [May 16], floating in a creek in a wooded area in the 400 block of Depot Street, and that the deceased appears to be a man in his 20’s. Authorities are working to determine the cause of death and the identity of the cadiver.
