Plans for new Haywood County park getting pushback from residents

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Plans for a new Haywood County park is getting pushback from some residents. A proposed pump track, mainly used by bikers, would be built around the old landfill off Farmview Drive in Waynesville, which county leaders see as a new tourist attraction and economic boost for the local economy, while some neighbors are concerned the park would increase traffic and noise in their neighborhood. The free pump tracks would come with a $2 million price tag, and officials said planning is ongoing.
