Thanks to federal funds Sylva is boasting a bigger budget. The new fiscal year begins on July 1 and officials said it might go down in history as one of the town’s wealthiest. Town Manager Paige Dowling said, rhw American Rescue Funds, will help with several community infrastructure projects, including Sylva’s downtown restroom, the Bridge Park improvements, Community Table repairs, housing, improved air ventilation and purification at Town Hall, as well as a skate park. Public comment on the budget is scheduled for May 26.
