The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a drug take-back event to help residents properly dispose of unused medications. Operation Medicine Drop will collect unused over-the-counter and prescription medications next Tuesday, March 22, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Jackson County Senior Center in Sylva. Additionally, unwanted or expired meds can also be taken to a year-round drop-off box in JCSO’s lobby. JCSO disposes of 500 pounds of pills annually, according to a news release.
