That’s a wrap for masks in Haywood County buildings. County Manager Bryant Morehead sent out a release Friday afternoon stating that, effective immediately, masking will be optional, although highly encouraged, in all Haywood County public facilities with a few exceptions. While masking is now optional in county facilities, everyone is still encouraged to continue to follow the public health best practices to help stop the transmission of COVID-19, including getting vaccinated. COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are available at the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency in Clyde NC. No appointment is necessary.
