CLYDE, N.C. (WLOS) – Families.gearing up for back to school are getting some help. New Covenant Church in Clyde held its sixth annual Back to School Blessing event on Saturday (July 29), as a way to help struggling families. Church staff and volunteers distributed more than 650 free backpacks and more than 250 Walmart shoe vouchers for kids. New Covenant Church is also opening a brand new pre-K on Aug. 14, called Creative Minds Christian Preschool, which will help meet a huge demand in Haywood County and surrounding counties.
