Waynesville man arrested with more than 100 weapons sentenced to prison on Indepence Day

A 25 year old Waynesville man arrested with more than 100 weapons during a 2021 traffic stop was sentenced to prison on Indepence Day [Tuesday]. According to court records, prior to the incident in Haywood County, Jacob Ryan McClure was taken into custody in Tennessee, after law enforcement seized 97 illegal “Glock switches” used to convert firearms into machineguns, four manufactured firearms referred to as “Ghost guns,” along with a conventional Glock firearm that had been converted into machineguns, an unregistered 9mm rifle, and 10 unregistered silencers from his vehicle and rental cabin. Police also confiscated narcotics and over $10,000 in cash. McClure was sentenced to 33 months in prison.
