Drug activity at separte Sylva residences resulted in two arrests. Sylva Police and Jackson County Sheriffs Office deputies say a warrant for, Brent Brooks, of Sylva was issued on June 30 stemming from an incident earlier this year [Jan. 23], and the 34 year old was taken into custody on multiple drug charges, including trafficking opium or heroin. According to the warrant, Brooks allegedly used a residence on Rhodes Cove Road in Sylva as a base to distribute fentanyl. Brooks was booked into the Jackson County Detention Center and released on bail.

Michael Sean Lewis was busted at a home a few miles away on Pecan Drive for selling an array of drugs, according to the sheriff’s office. Police allegedly confiscated methamphetamine, mushrooms, and marijuana, during the investigation, court documents state. The 55 year old remains jailed on a $275,000 bond, the inmate roster shows.
