CULLOWHEE, N.C. (WLOS) – Western Carolina University has earned some national recognition for one of its teaching initiaves. According to the university’s website, WCU’s undergraduate teacher preparation program has been recognized by the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) as being “among the best in the nation in preparing future elementary teachers, earning an A+ distinction in NCTQ’s new report. The program is among just 48 nationwide to be recognized. WCU says the program is aimed at ensuring their elementary teacher candidates get the preparation necessary.
