A routine traffic stop landed a local man in jail on several drug and traffic related charges. Michael Dewayne Putman, of Cullowhee was arrested after the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office pulled the 30 year old over near Grindstaff Cove Road on June 6 and confiscated methamphetamine, marijuana and fentanyl, along with drug paraphenelia associated with selling drugs, according to court documents. Bond was set at $22,500 for Putman who has since been released, as he awaits his next court date.
