CANTON, N.C. (WLOS) – More than 300 people RSVP’d for the Pactiv Evergreen Employee Cookout on Friday night. Helping Haywood sponsored the cookout for employees and their families following the closure of the Pactiv Evergreen paper mill in Canton. The facility ceased operation on June 8. Organizers said while the smoke from the mill is gone, the paper town stands strong.
