More broadband infrastructure is heading to Jackson County. The current buildout is being funded by a large chunk of federal dollars along with a mix of state and local funding. And while that financial support is being implemented, more is needed down the road to ensure the most up to date information as to the type of service needed, the Director of Economic Development for Jackson County said. That’s where the North Carolina Broadband Survey comes in, she noted, as funding is based on this data. To access the survey, go to ncbroadband.gov, or the county website, at jacksonnc.org. The expansion will help reach more than 1,156 locations in the county.
