Sheriff Doug Farmer is pleading with residents not to take the law into their own hands and to let law enforcement do its job. The plea comes after a tresspassing incident last week in which a homeowner in the Barkers Creek area illegally detained two teens at gunpoint who had previously been seen on his property, and then shot at them as they were leaving his driveway, putting lives in danger. The situation ended with the homeowners arrest on a long list of charges, including assault and kidnapping. Farmer called it, “a miracle there were no injuries.” The truck the boys were in did have damage from bullet holes.
