Senior prank at Smoky Mountain High School has put some students graduation in jeopardy

SYLVA, North Carolina (WLOS) — A senior prank at Smoky Mountain High School has put some students graduation in jeopardy. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, about 20 high school seniors might not get to walk across the graduation stage to accept their diplomas, following the prank, which according to online media reports, involved zip ties, vandalism of windows, and students entering the building. The Jackson County Sheriff’s office told News 13 charges may be filed. School officials are expected to decide Tuesday if the seniors involved will be able to participate in the graduation ceremony.
