A nine year old child who went missing from a Chicago, Illinois suburb on Independence day years ago has been found alive in Asheville. Kayla, now 15, was abducted by her non-custodial mother Heather Unhebhaun on Fourth of July in 2017, ABC 7 in Chicago reported Monday. Police arrested Heather in Asheville over the weekend, thanks to a tip from a store owner who apparently recognized the girl from an episode of Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries” and called police, according to the report. She is being held on $250,000 bond and is awaiting extradition. Kayla is now in protective custody.
