Sylva woman convicted in 2021 drug overdoses sentenced

JACKSON COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – A Sylva woman convicted for her role in the 2021 drug overdoses of two people has learned her fate. According to court documents, 29-year-old Megan Emily Tate was sentenced to 20 years in prison after investigators determined she supplied two inmates with fentanyl while she was in custody at the Jackson County Detention Center. Both victims later recovered according to authorities.
