A Dillsboro fundraiser will help the Watershed Association of the Tuckaseigee River stay afloat and keep its eye on the river and its watershed, which includes most of Jackson County. The fundraiser will support WATR conservation and education programs, a news release states. The funds would also be designated for local clean water, including purchasing a storm drain trash collection unit to be deployed in Scotts Creek. WATR is seeking donations, and will apply for grant funding to help cover the cost, according to the release. The fundraiser will be held from 2-8 p.m. next Saturday, April 29 at Innovation Station in Dillsboro. Raffle tickets can be purchased through April 29 at protectourwaters-wnc.org. Winners will be notified by email on April 30, and need not be present at the event.
