JACKSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Few details are being released about an ongoing investigation related to human remains found over the weekend in National Forest land within Western North Carolina. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a report of a body found on March 5, but did not say exactly where it was located. The identity of the deceased is pending the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations report.
