Broadband is reaching more rural areas of Haywood County

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Broadband is reaching more rural areas of Haywood County. Nearly $2 million in funding from the state, the county and Skyrunner Internet is taking trunk lines to several rural areas, including Fines Creek, White Oak, Crabtree, Lake Logan, Bethel, Cove Creek and Jonathan Creek. The new lines will reach at least 300 homes and extensions will reach even more. County leaders said high-speed internet will help with home businesses and remote learning … among other benefits, and the county will continue to pursue grants for even more broadband expansion.
