After closing of Canton paper mill, environmentalists finding purpose in the pain

After the closing of the Canton paper mill left the town feeling shredded, environmentalists are finding purpose in the pain. For decades, concern about water quality has been the central tension between Canton’s paper mill and while the environmental advocates monitoring it say they feel torn as they too mourn the loss, when the plant closes this year, it might bode well for water quality, including a cleaner and clearer Pigeon River.
