TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Speeding has been cited in a car crash in Transylvania County last week in which a Hendersonville High School student was found dead. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Elyja Kieshaun Gibbs lost control of his vehicle on U.S. 64 near Crab Creek Road, skidded off the road and slammed into a tree, sending his vehicle down an embankment. The teen’s family said they pinged the car’s location when they hadn’t heard from him Wednesday night. The 17-year-old ‘standout athlete’s’ body was located Thursday morning, according to reports.
