ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A hung jury resulted in a mistrial for a Buncombe County woman charged with murdering her boyfriend in 2020. Following several days of deliberation a judge determined the jury was deadlocked and a date for further proceedings related to the case is to be determined, the Buncombe County District Attorney’s office confirmed in a tweet on Monday [Feb. 13]. Shannon Daves is charged with the killing of Roger Michael Evans, in their Candler home just before Christmas [Dec. 23] of 2020. Evans was 47 years old at the time of his death, and well-known in Candler, where he owned a popular car wash.
