Georgia man charged in 2021 drug case in WNC sentenced

JACKSON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – A Georgia man charged in connection to a 2021 drug trafficking case in Western North Carolina was sentenced recently to priosn time followed by 5 years probation. According to court documents, 34-year-old Brandon Todd O’Dell is accused of being part of a drug trafficking operation that sold meth in and around Jackson County. Following a welfare check at the parking lot of a Dollar General store in Sylva on March 9, 2021, officials confiscated large amounts of meth, and it was determined that O’Dell, who was linked to a violent white supremacist gang, made multiple trips to North Carolina to transport the drug. He remains in federal custody on multiple charges.
