The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is ramping up warnings as more reports of NCDot scams surface. According to a press release, customers are being targeted by scammers via email claiming to be representatives of either the DMV or the North Carolina Department of Transportation telling them to click on a link to pay a fine for an alleged driving violation. Customers are encouraged to be aware of any emails using the address “notice@penalty-gov-us” and urges anyone who does receive an email alleging you owe the DMV or the State money, contact the agency, but do not use the info in the email.
