A Jackson County man will spend the holidays behind bars following the death of his child last month. A judge set bond at $2 million for Glenn Hershel Strickland, of Whittier, on one count of second-degree murder and three counts of felony child abuse, stemming from the death of his 6-year-old son who died in Lenoir County while they were visiting the boys grandmother for Thanksgiving. According to results from the medical examiner’s office, the child tested positive for methadone, which “was in the juice bottle,” police said.
