Businesses and communities throughout the region that were hit hard by COVID, many of whom are still recovering, are getting some help. NCGrowth is partnering with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Southwestern Commission, and Western Carolina University to support rural and under-resourced communities battling high unemployment and poverty, create jobs and build and strengthen local economies. The expanded commitment, through a grant from Dogwood Health Trust, in the seven counties that make up the southwestern corner of the state, includes Jackson.
