There are now more vacation rentals than hotel rooms in Buncombe County. Tourism officials say that the supply of vacation rentals in the area has surpassed the supply of hotel rooms for the first time in county history. Hotel rooms available to be rented in Buncombe County stand at about $2.7 million through October of this year. The number of vacation rentals is about $3 million.
