ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – Construction on parts of a bridge on Montford Avenue over Interstate 240 West that was damaged last January is likely to cause some congestion, officials warn. The lift arm of a truck that was passing underneath the bridge caused damage to all six of the bridge’s beams. Transportation officials said, even though work is scheduled for overnight between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., expect some traffic delays on I-240 West and Montford Avenue. Motorists will be detoured through the work zones. Construction isn’t expected to wrap up until March 2023.
