SYLVA, N.C. (WLOS) – A student in Western North Carolina is recovering after falling in the school’s lobby. Jackson County Public Schools released a statement saying the incident happened Monday at Scotts Creek School in Sylva where a seventh grade student fell from the second story railing in the school’s lobby. The student was taken to Mission Hospital in Asheville. A spokesperson for the school district said that the student was conscious on yesterday afternoon, according to reports from News 13.
