Haywood County woman was arrested for failing to appear for federal arraignment

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A Haywood County woman was arrested for failing to appear for federal arraignment. Darris Gibson Moody is facing 58 counts of interstate threatening communications and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. According to court documents, Moody, who skipped her Friday court date, was in federal court Monday, where she was jailed on $10,000 bail. Moody is accused of sending false warrants to a number of Haywood County leaders and law enforcement officials, claiming they faced a number of felony offenses and anyone could make a citizen’s arrest and collect a $10,000 reward.
