Family, friends and collegues say goodbye to long-time EBCI legislator

Family, friends and collegues gathered over the weekend to say goodbye to a long-time legislator with the Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) who has passed away last week. Funeral services were held at the Chief Joyce Dugan Cultural Arts Center on Friday [Oct. 13], for Virginia Lee “Tommye” Bradley Saunooke and she was buried the same day at the Campground Cemetery in Whittier. Saunooke served as a Tribal Council Representative for the Painttown Community since 1999. She was 82 years old.
