ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A crime survey has one local neighborhood considering hiring security. Data from the Asheville Police Department shows violent crime has been climbing in Asheville’s Montford Area Historic District since 2016. Those stats now have Montford residents ready to hire off-duty APD officers to patrol Montford as a crime deterrent.
