This year’s Youth Deer Hunting Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission established Youth Deer Hunting Day to increase interest in deer hunting among youth plus increase their success at hunting and highlight the need to engage youth in hunting. Those 17 and under may use guns or any other legal hunting equipment to hunt deer. Hunters 17 and younger are not required to be accompanied by an adult if they have completed a hunter education course.
