A woman who was the victim of child sexual abuse may finally receive delayed justice. A Jackson County child sex abuse ‘cold case’ has resulted in an arrest nearly two decades later. Pablo Altamirano San Juan was arrested for one felony count of statutory rape stemming from an incident in 2005, with a then 13 year old child, when, the now 38 year old, was 21, according to court documents. The case was originally reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in 2006, and originated with Swain DSS who forwarded it to Cherokee Indian Police Department investigators who then notified the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office once they learned where the crime was alleged to have occurred. San Juan is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center on $250,000 bail.
